The Gong is one of mankind’s oldest sacred and ancient instruments of healing, rejuvenation and transformation.
Although generally thought of as Asian, there are numerous references for the gong´s origin in Ancient Greece. In fact, the origin of the term gong goes back to the Ancient Greek word γογγύζω, an onomatopoetic term meaning: droning on in a low constant murmur.
We meet the gong in various forms and variations already since Minoan Crete. We also encounter the use of gongs in the Eleusinian Mysteries and in Ancient Greek oracles, most famously at Dodona, the “Oracle of Sounds and Gongs“. The most prominent ancient gong is the sacred and legendary Palladion of Troy, closely connected to the Goddess Pallas Athena.
The Sound and the frequencies of the gong, grow in a spiral motion and are also linked to the ‘Music of the Spheres’ of the great philosopher Pythagoras. According to the ‘Father of Music’ the gong is the spirit song. It is the basic creative sound and therefore the primal whisper of the soul.
On a physical level, the gong releases tension and blockages in the body. It stimulates a higher functioning of the glandular and nervous system, increases our vital life force and improves circulation.
The gong also works deeply on the mental, emotional, and spiritual bodies. It purifies the mind to reveal the radiant and authentic self. It has the capacity to bring us to our neutral mind that is wise and non-judgemental. It helps to reset the mind to a state of stillness where innate wisdom can be accessed.
You’ll be able to choose between the transformative impact of a Sun Gong or the profound healing and recreational power of a Flower of Life Gong.
